Future Amp launches first microcredential for students!

We've just built our first #FutureAmp #microcredential and STEM Pathways online #elearning module, and are excited to announce it will launch as part of #NationalCareersWeek next Monday 18 May!

We've had a huge response to this program, which will be distributed to 15,000+ high school students across Victoria to excite them about diverse STEM #career pathways and the critical role of STEM skills in the #futureofwork.

Why is teaching students about STEM pathways important?

1. Because as the world of work changes, we need to change our skills to match. Australia will hit a skills deficit of 29 million by 2030. The gap between education and industry is widening. We need to close it - and start now.

2. Because in 2003, 4 countries significantly outperformed Australia in #PISA mathematics. In 2018, 23 did... We need more mathematicians and statisticians to help solve real-world challenges, like COVID-19.

3. Because without adequate understandings of STEM career opportunities and an uptick in STEM skills in Australia, we risk companies hiring and setting up elsewhere.

BUT - if we prepare young Australians for the jobs of the future, we'll enjoy a thriving cycle of emerging industries, jobs and economic opportunities.
