Future Amp partners with Swinburne University’s KIOSC to build Australia’s STEM workforce pipeline

Future Amp is excited to announce our 2022 partnership with Swinburne University’s KIOSC, as part of our national platform roll out and ongoing commitment to educating youth about STEM and technology career pathways in Australia’s future workforce.

KIOSC – the Knox Innovation, Opportunity and Sustainability Centre – is a partnership between Swinburne University, local secondary schools and the Knox City Council. An innovative, shared learning environment which promotes the development of skills, workforce opportunities and career pathways for secondary school students, KIOSC inspires young people to prepare and plan for their futures, with a particular focus on STEM.

This Future Amp education partnership will support KIOSC’s 2022 centre programming and also provide six KIOSC partner schools with access to Future Amp’s national career education platform, with an expected 10,000+ students from the KIOSC support partnership using the platform in 2022.

Launched through the David Gonski AO Future Minds program in 2021, Future Amp is designed to inspire, educate and upskill today’s students for tomorrow’s industries and jobs. The all-in-one careers and skills platform provides on-demand career pathway exploration and guidance, skills-based learning and 100+ Australian Curriculum-aligned self-paced online courses designed specifically for students, with a key focus on technology industries of the future.

Students can discover industries and jobs, explore study pathways, complete virtual work experience, create a personalised Career Passport learner profile, plan career goals aligned with individual passions, interests, and strengths, and develop real-world transferable skills by learning directly from 100’s of industry experts (virtual role models).

“We’re super excited to partner with KIOSC to continue to inspire and empower students with the skills, knowledge and STEM workforce role models they need for their future careers,” said Future Amp Co-Founder Madeleine Grummet.

“We know that the fastest growing industries and 90 per cent of jobs will require people with STEM skills in the next two to five years.

“So it’s our job to engage youth with STEM career pathway exploration and virtual workforce experiences to show them what’s possible when we harness the power of technology, and so they can play a role in shaping Australia’s future technology workforce, and digital economy.”
