You can’t be what you can’t see. Future Amp partners with MMLLEN to connect regional students with inspiring industry role models
Future Amp is excited to today announce a partnership with the Victorian Government-funded Murray Mallee Local Learning and Employment Network to support young people in regional Victoria with access to inspiring industry role models, career pathways and future skills learning opportunities.
Murray Mallee Local Learning and Employment Network (MMLLEN) is one of 31 LLENs across Victoria. The LLENs are a key initiative of the Victorian Government designed to ignite the career aspirations of young people, increase the capability of schools to deliver effective education, training and employment pathways for youth in local priority and other industries.
The Future Amp MMLLEN partnership will support MMLEN education partner schools across the region, and will contribute to enhancing young people’s workforce aspirations, supporting career pathway program delivery, and fostering a sense of optimism for the future in the regions.
Making career decisions, accessing up-to-date information, and connecting with real people in real jobs and industries is fundamental to every young person’s career pathway exploration, goal setting and planning. But too many young people still face significant demographic or geographic barriers, lack access to industry role models or career advisors, and can’t get beyond the classroom walls or their born circumstance to reach their full potential.
The Future Amp platform helps young people see what they could be, and supports them to explore and plan a career pathway that matches their interests, strengths and passions.
Launched through the David Gonski AO Future Minds program in 2021, Future Amp is designed to inspire, educate and upskill today’s students for tomorrow’s industries and jobs.
The all-in-one careers and skills platform provides on-demand career pathway exploration and guidance, skills-based learning and 100+ Australian Curriculum-aligned self-paced online courses designed specifically for students, with a key focus on industries of the future.
Students can discover industries and jobs, explore study pathways, complete virtual work experience, create a personalised Career Passport learner profile, plan career goals aligned with individual passions, interests, and strengths, and develop real-world transferable skills by learning directly from 100’s of industry experts (virtual role models).
Strategic priorities of the Future Amp MMLLEN partnership are to:
Enhance career education exploration and discovery opportunities to assist young people in regional Victoria to connect with real-world industries, jobs and skills
Prepare a skilled, entry-level workforce of young people to support the development of the local and regional economy and Victoria’s priority sectors
Support parents and families to be closely engaged in the education and career decision-making of their children
Support a strong and cohesive community working together for the benefit of all young people in order to improve the education, participation, engagement, attainment and transition outcomes of young people within the MMLLEN geographic boundaries.
