Accommodation, Hospitality
and Food Services
This industry provides a range of tourism, travel and hospitality services for people living in, and visiting Australia.
Most jobs are located in hotels, motels, cafes, restaurants, take-away shops, bars, pubs and at catering providers.
Other businesses providing hospitality services can include short-stay accommodation and bed and breakfast providers (ie: Airbnb, Stayz), serviced apartments, caravan parks, holiday houses, ski lodges and student and youth hostels.
Employability skills required include problem solving, intercultural skills, critical thinking and communication.
Casual and part-time work is very common, which makes it a great option for entry level jobs, or those studying. Work hours and weekly schedules can vary because demand for services can change by day and by season.
